Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

In the acute immobilisation test with Daphnia magna (STRAUS), the effects of the Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) with the nominal loading of 100 mg/L of the test item were determined according to OECD 202 (2004) and Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 Method C.2 (2008) over a period of 48 hours. 100 mg/L of the test item were shaken with dilution water at 20 rpm for 24 hours at room temperature . After a 1-h settlement period, the test item phase was separated by siphon and the test organisms exposed to the clear aqueous phase. Twenty daphnids were exposed to the WAF and the control.

The tested WAF with a nominal loading of 100 mg/L of the test item and the control were analytically verified by analysis of dissolved organic carbon at the start of the exposure (0 h) and at the end of the exposure (48 h). The measured concentrations of dissolved organic carbon in the control were < 2.00 mg C/L. The measured concentrations of dissolved organic carbon in the WAF with the nominal loading of 100 mg/L were 38.1 mg C/L (0 h) and 40.1 mg C/L (48 h). Exposures are expressed in terms of the original concentrations of the test item in water at the start of the mixing period (loading rate). Water quality parameters measured at the start (0 h) and at the end of the exposure (48 h), were within the acceptable limits. The validity criteria of the test guidelines were fulfilled.

At a nominal loading of 100 mg/L, no effects were observed on Daphnia magna. The key value reads as follows: EL 50 > 100 mg/L.

The toxicity of the test substance to the unicellular freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined according to OECD 201. The aim of the study was to assess the effects on growth rate and yield over a period of 72 hours.

The study was conducted under static conditions with an initial cell density of 4332 cells/mL. Five water accommodated fractions (WAF) were prepared with a nominal loading of 10.0 - 20.0 - 40.0 - 80.0 - 160 mg test item/L. Three replicates were used for each water accommodated fraction and six for the control. The environmental conditions were within the acceptable limits. All test loadings and the control were analytically verified via analysis of dissolved organic carbon measured as NPOC (Non Purgeable Organic Carbon) at the start and the end of the exposure. All effect values given are based on nominal test item loadings of the test item.

In this study inhibition on growth of the freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus was found after 72 hours exposure to the test item. The nominal EL50-values for inhibition of growth rate (ErL50) after 72 hours was > 160 mg/L. The nominal NOEL-values for inhibition of growth rate after 72 hours was 40.0 mg/L. All effect values given are based on nominal test item loadings.
