Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on structural formulas approach, the test substance is considered as non oxidising

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

In order to determine if experimental study relative to oxidizing properties was required, an analysis was conducted on the constituents of the test item. Based on the chemical structure and literature data, the potential oxidizing properties of each constituent of the test item were examined.

The oxidising properties of the test substance are consistent with the properties of an analogue substance. The analogue is "Reaction product of naphthalene, propan-2-ol, sulfonated and neutralized by caustic soda" is non oxidising. The EU Method A.17 was used for the determination of this type of properties for the analogue substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on most recent approach of structural formulas, the product is not expected to have oxidising properties.
