Description of key information

The partition coefficient is determined to 3.15 at 20 °C.

A study according to OECD TG 117 HPLC method was conducted (BASF AG 1994a, 94L00087) to determine the log Pow value. Using the HPLC method the log Pow was determined to be 2.9 at 22 °C. Furthermore a study was conducted according to OECD TG 107 shake flask method (BASF AG 1994b, 94L00087) to verify the result of the HPLC. Using 6 replicates the log Pow was determined to be 3.15 at 20 °C. In general the results from the shake flask method will be regarded as more reliable. The log Pow of 3.15 was regarded as worst case assumption and thus was chosen as key

value for chemical safety assessment. The result is supported by a calculation using SPARC creating a value of 2.82 based on a scientifically calculation model.
