Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
> 80 - < 100 % (w/w)
Reference substance:
Reference substance:
This impurity is considered relevant for the classification and labelling of the substance
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB

Not P and not vP based on: readily biodegradable

Test results shows that the substance is readily biodegradable. The biodegradability was determined with a non adapted activated sludge for the test item over a test period of 28 days in the DOC-Die-Away test. At 7 days, the biodegradation reached the 86% and at 28 days the biodegradation reached the 99%.

Not B and not vB based on: Log Kow ≤ 4.5

The log Kow value of the substance is lower than 4.5 (calculated log Pow of the substance is -3.72 (EPI-Suite, EPA USA / KOWWIN v1.67).

Not B and not vB based on: BCF ≤ 2,000 L/kgRemark:

Test result: The golden ide (Leuciscus idus melanotus) was selected as representative of inhabitants of slightly polluted zones of running water. Bioconcentration is measured by using the average constant exposition to the chemical dissolved in water. To enable uptake of a compound from water exclusively, fish were not fed during the test. The BCF after 3 days was lower than 10.
Calculated data: The estimated bioaccumulation factor is 3.162 (BCFWIN v2.17). The Log BCF from regression-based method is 0.500.

Not T based on :

A limit acute toxicity test was performed with Brachydanio rerio in a semi-static system. Ten The 96h-LC50 was greater than 100 mg/L. RA: Based on the experimental results (reported under the endpoint record 06.01.01_02 KAc) obtained with the analogue Potassium acetate (96-h LC50 > 496.35 mg/L for Brachydanio rerio in a static test) and the molecular weights, the read-across approach is applied and the LC50 for the substance Sodium acetate is calculated to be > 414.87 mg/L under test conditions.
