First-aid measures

General advice : Remove contaminated clothing immediately and store/dispose of safely

After inhalation : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. In the event of symptoms take medical treatment.

After contact with skin : In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with plenty of water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

After contact with eyes : In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

After ingestion : Thoroughly clean the mouth with water. Call for medical advice immediately; show this safety data sheet.

Notes to physician:

Symptoms : The following symptoms may occur:

- gastrointestinal complaints

Treatment : If swallowed, flush stomach.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, water spray.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours: In the event of fire the following can be released:

- Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

- Sulphur oxides

- carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide

Under certain conditions of combustion traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases. Use self-contained breathing apparatus and wear protective suit.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : High risk of slipping due to leakage/spillage of product.

Use personal protective equipment.

Keep away sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or waterways.

Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil.

Methods for cleaning up/taking up: Pick up mechanically. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.

Handling

Advice on safe handling : Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid raising dust.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Cool endangered containers by water spray. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.

Storage

Further information : Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.

Hygiene measures: At work do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Respiratory protection : in case of formation of vapours/dusts: Respiratory protection mask with combination filter A-P2

Hand protection: PVC gloves

Eye protection: tightly fitting safety glasses.

Skin and body protection: light protective clothing. A protective ointment is recommended.

Disposal considerations

Product: In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration plant.

Contaminated packaging: If empty contaminated containers are recycled or disposed of, the receiver must be informed about possible hazards.
