Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
27.05.2004 to 17.06.2004
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test item was investigated in a study conducted according to EU-Method A.10. In a preliminary test, the test item could not be ignited with a flame. Therefore the main test was not necessary to be conducted.

Based on the results, the test substance is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the consolidated version of Council Directive 67/548/EEC, Annex V, Method A.10 (Council Directive 92/69/EEC).

Description of key information

non flammable (EU method A.10); GLP; RL1

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability of partially unsaturated TEA-Esterquat was investigated in a study conducted according to EU-Method A.10.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In a preliminary screening test according to EU method A.10., the flammability of partially unsaturated TEA-Esterquat was investigated. The test item could not be ignited with a flame. With this result the outcome of the screening test is negative and according to CLP classification criteria the substance is not classified.
