Additional information

There is one short-term aquatic invertebrate study available for 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (TRIS AMINO), which was used as key study for the assessment. The study was conducted according the OECD guideline 202 and GLP (Urann, 2011). The test organism Daphnia magna was exposed to TRIS AMINO in a static system for 48 hours, at the measured test concentrations 63, 130, 260, 520, 980 mg a.i./L. Except for a 15% immobilisation at the highest test concentration, no effects were observed. The EC50 value was thus estimated to be > 980 mg/L.
