Description of key information

Test is not applicable for organic peroxides. In the CLP regulations Organic peroxides are not oxidizers. They are classified in a distinct hazard class. See also ECHA guidance on the application of the CLP criteria, section 2.14

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the test on oxidising properties (required in section 7.13) was not conducted as the test substance (tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat) is an organic peroxide for which the required test(s) are not applicable.

Tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat is classified as Organic Peroxide Type D with H242 (heating may cause a fire). According to Regulation 1272/2008/EC, tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat is classified only as Organic Peroxide Type D with H242 (Heating may cause a fire).
