Description of key information

As tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat is not stable under the conditions of a Koc test and due to its low water solubility, the log Koc value of tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat was calculated using EPIWIN (v. 4.00). For tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat the log Koc was estimated to be 3.13 and 2.642 for Kow method and MCI method, respectively (KOCWIN v.2.00, see Annex I). The Koc was estimated to be 1348 L/kg (Kow method) and 438 L/kg (MCI method).

Additional information

The test method for determination of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of a substance as described for liquid materials in Test Guideline C.19 of EC Regulation 440/2008 was replaced by a model calculation as tert-Butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoat is not stable under the conditions of a Koc test and due to its low water solubility.
