EC50 for microorganisms:
550 mg/L

Additional information

The effect of 2,6 -xylidine (CAS 87 -62 -7) was studied in a short-term respiration test using domestic activated sludge as inoculum. The non-GLP study was performed according to OECD 209. The 30 -min EC20 value was determined to be ca. 150 mg/L, teh 30 -min EC50 was ca. 550 mg/L (nominal; OECD 209, BASF AG, 1992, rep. no.: 92/2467/08/1).

Therefore, it can be concluded, that the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriately low concentrations.
