OECD 307 and OECD 308 tests have been performed to assess the degradation rate and persistence of Amicabazone in soil and water-sediment systems.

The half-life in soil (DT50) ranged from 58.2 to 72.2 days (4 soils) with an additional study with a US clay loam soil of 50 days.

The half-lifes in water and sediment systems were 182 and 385 days.

This information classifies amicarbazone as very persistent in water and sediment systems according to the Endpoint Specific Guidance document (Chapter R.7b) (a half-life in water >60 days or sediment >180 days, or soil >180 days.

Based on the higher tiered studies performed and information on the persistence of amicabazone performing a Ready Biodegradation test or Inherent Biodegradation test would not add any additional information.
