The information classifies Amicarbazone as very persistent in water and sediment systems according to the Endpoint Specific Guidance document (Chapter R.7b) (a half-life in water >60 days or sediment >180 days, or soil >180 days. Amicarbizone has a maximum DT50 in soil of 72 days so is not classified as persistent in soil.

The Log Pow is less than 3 (1.23) and therefore there is very little potential for bioaccumulation. Therefore, Amicarbazone is not classified as bioaccumulative.

To be classified as toxic the ecotoxicity chronic NOEC is < 0.01 mg/l and the mammalian toxicology carcinogenicity or mutagenicity category is 1 or 2 and reprotoxicity category is 1, 2 or 3.Amicarbozone has a chronic NOEC of 0.0124 mg/l in algae. In terms of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity or reproductive toxicity, Amicarbazone does not have any potential to cause such effects in animals or humans, with all relevant mammalian toxicological studies returning a clear set of data.
