A limit test, at the upper threshold concentration (UTC: defined as the lowest of two effect concentrations obtained for algae and daphnids; 0.19 mg/L for the registered substance) was performed and no adverse effects were observed (based on hatch, survival, weight and length). As such, the chronic fish toxicity result is reported as greater than the UTC value.
Experimental long-term toxicity data for the registered substance are adequate for the purpose of classification and labelling and/or risk assessment. Supporting information is provided by acute and chronic aquatic toxicity values calculated using the neutral organics structure-activity relationship in the ECOSAR computer program (Nabholz and Mayo-Bean, 2009) of EPISuite; the results of which are consistent with the measured test data. Validity and applicability of the QSAR are described in a document attached as background material to the QSAR endpoint study record.
