Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
- General information: In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
- After inhalation: IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
- After skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If a person feels unwell or symptoms of skin irritation appear, consult a physician.
- After eye contact: Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
- After swallowing: If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this SDS or label. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Breathing difficulty
Burning
Risk of serious damage to eyes.
Irritating to mucous membranes.
Redness.
Swelling of tissue.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Use water spray or fog; do not use straight streams, alcohol resistant foam, fire-extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide, dry sand
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
During heating or in case of fire poisonous gases are produced.
Hazardous combustion products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl)
- Advice for fire fighter: Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
- Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.
Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.
Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.
Prevent product from entering drains.
Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Handling and storage
-Precautions for safe handling:
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Prevent formation of aerosols.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing mists, dusts, or vapors. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
· Information about fire - and explosion protection: Keep respiratory protective device available.
-Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
· Storage:
· Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition.
· Information about storage in one common storage facility: Not required.
· Further information about storage conditions:
· Unsuitable storage materials: Carbon steel
· Suitable material: Stainless steel, plastic
-Specific end use(s): No further relevant information available.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Control Parameters:
- DNELS: Concentration limits for uses in mixture: Dermal local effect: 1%; Eye effect: 1%. If the substnaces iis n a mixture below those concentrations, qualitative risks are assumed to be controlled for the respective route and type of effects.
- PNECs:
Fresh Water 0.00042 mg/L
Sea Water 0.0000415 mg/L
Fresh water sediment 68 mg/kg
Sea water sediment 6.8 mg/kg
Sewage treatment plant 0.946 mg/L
Soil 1.66 mg/kg
2. Personal protective equipment:
- General protective and hygienic measures: Maintain adequate engineering controls and/or ventilation to keep hazardous ingredients below their statutory limits. Use an approved respirator whenever exposure limits are exceeded.
Store protective clothing separately.
- Respiratory protection: In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
- Protection of hands: Protective gloves; The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation
- Material of gloves: Butyl rubber, BR; Fluorocarbon rubber (Viton)
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Penetration time of glove material: The determined penetration times according to EN 16523-1:2015 are not performed under practical conditions. Therefore a maximum wearing time, which corresponds to 50% of the penetration time, is recommended.
- Eye protection: Wear tightly sealed goggles, face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.
- Body protection: Protective work clothing
