Conclusions:
The water solubility of 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine was determined as 1.54 g/L at 20°C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine in bidistilled water has been determined according to the "flask method" described in guideline 92/69/EEC, appendix A.6 and OECD-guideline 105.

Three weighed amounts of the test item were added to 10 mL bidistifled water and stirred at 30°C and different time intervals (24, 48 and 72 h). After equilibration (24 h at 20°C) aliquots of the saturated aqueous phase were filtered (Schleicher + Schull, 0.2 µm). 1 mL of each filtrate was than filled up with acetonitrile to a volume of 100 mL. The concentration of the test item was determined by HPLC.

A second experiment was performed according to this procedure but without test item ("blank"). The water solubility of 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine was determined as 1.54 g/L at 20°C.
