Description of key information

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Reaction mass of bis[(2 -hydroxyethyl)ammonium] sulphite and 2-(methylamino)ethanol - oxosulfane oxide (1:1) is soluble in water and dissociates into (2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium, 2-(methylamino)ethanol and sulphite ions. Neither one of the dissociation products are expected to be susceptible to hydrolysis because they do not contain hydrolysable groups. Thus, hydrolysis as a mechanism of degradation, is unlikely to play an appreciable role in the environmental fate of the test substance.
