Description of key information

The substance is an inorganic layered silicate and as such does not actually melt but scinters at temperatures in excess of 1000 deg C, at which point the layered structure is destroyed and the elements are converted to their oxides.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
1 000 °C

Additional information

Melting point is not possible to define.
