Description of key information

The vapour pressure of Salt reaction of cobalt(2+) and C3/C10 carboxylates can be considered as negligible.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The vapour pressure of Salt reaction of cobalt(2 +) and C3/C10 carboxylates can be considered as negligible based on the fact that the vapour pressure of the carboxylates are low: decanoic acid (0,048 Pa at 25°C / Baccanari DP et al; Trans Faraday Soc 64: 1201-5 (1968)) and propanoic acid (melting point above 300°C). Moreover, the vapour pressures of the anionic forms are magnitudes lower since the ionic bond strength is then higher compared with the Van-der-Waals interaction of the uncharged molecule. Thus, further testing is not required, in accordance with regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex XI, section 1.1.
