Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
238 °C

Additional information

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 key study from Kintrup (2012) the boiling point of Butanedioic acid, 2(or 3)-sulfo-, 4-[2-[(1-oxo(C12-18(even

numbered) and C18 unsaturated)alkyl)amino]ethyl]esters, disodium salts was determined with the DSC method according to OECD 103 and EU method A.2. Up to 238°C the test item did not show any boiling. At 238° and higher decomposition and probably also boiling were observed. A

decomposition is most likely due to a strong residue in the crucible at ca. 600 °C.

For the risk assessment, the lowest possible value will be used, i.e., 238°C. This value was determined at 1022 mbar (102200 Pa). The expected difference of the boiling point from 102200 Pa to101325 Pa is within the measurement accuracy of the method. Therefore, the boiling point as determined at 1022 mbar can be used also for 101 325 Pa.

This information is considered to be relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
