Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
219 °C

Additional information

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 key study from Kintrup (2012) the melting point of Butanedioic acid, 2(or 3)-sulfo-, 4-[2-[(1-oxo(C12-18(even

numbered) and C18 unsaturated)alkyl)amino]ethyl]esters, disodium salts was determined with the DSC method according to OECD 102 and EU method A.1. Up to 219°C the test item did not show any melting. At 219° and higher decomposition and probably also melting were observed. However, it is not clear if the observed melting was the melting of the test substance or the melting of the degradation products.

For the risk assessment the lowest possible melting temperature will be used, i.e., 219°C.

This information is considered to be relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
