Description of key information

Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin has a low volatilisation potential.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental studies determining the Henry’s Law constant of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin are available. Because the substance is a composition of different homologues, the Henry’s Law constant was calculated for the different components using HENRYWIN v3.20 (Müller, 2011). Results from HENRYWIN v3.20 indicate a low potential for volatilisation of the components of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin from water into air based on Henry’s Law constants of 0.00000273 - 0.000177 Pa m³/mole (Bond estimation method). Based on the results of the representative components, it can be concluded that Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin has a low volatilisation potential.
