Phototransformation in air is not relevant based on the low vapour pressure value (0.069 - 1.09 Pa).
No experimental studies investigating the phototransformation in air of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin are available. Because the substance is a composition of different homologues, the phototransformation in air was calculated for the different components using AOPWIN v1.92 (Müller, 2011).
The results indicate that the components of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin show a slow degradation by indirect photodegradation in air. The estimated half-life for the reaction with OH-radicals is 29.484 h - 45.307 h (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm³). However, this is not expected to be a relevant environmental fate process, since the components of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin are not expected to be present in the atmosphere based on the low Henry’s Law Constant of < 1 Pa m³/mole. Based on the results of the representative components, it can be concluded that phototransformation in air is not a relevant degradation pathway for Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin.
