The log Pow of DV-SOLV 1059 is 0.39

The partition coefficient (Pow) of the DV-SOLV 1059 was determined using the HPLC method following the guideline OECD 117 and EU method A.8. The validity criteria were met and the study has been performed in accordance with the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice Regulations.


Seven reference chemicals for which log Pow has been reported were used to calibrate the elution time in units of log Pow. For the determination of t0 (retention time of the unretarded component) thioura was injected.

Retention times measured for DV-SOLV 1059 (2.09 min) is lower than the eluting standard, Methyethylketone (2.18 min). This result shows that log Pow of DV-SOLV 1059 is slightly lower than the calibrated range. Therefore an extrapolated value was determined.

Thus, the extrapolated log Pow value calculated for DV-SOLV 1059 was 0.39.
