Since ferrous slags are inert inorganics with all relevant analytes in
their most stable oxidation state, there is no possibility of
Ferrous slags are formed at temperatures of >1000 °C and therefore
virtually free of oxidizable material. Even if oxidizable material would
be present (graphite, traces of metal), due to its manufacturing
process, slag cannot undergo ignition.
Ferrous slags are not classified because observation, knowledge of the
manufacturing method, and analytical information, indicate that these
slags are non flammable
