- Rabibts are exposed for 24 hours to test material retained under impervious sheeting on the clipped, intact skin of the trunk. After the contact period the excess fluid is removed and observations are made at 1 hour, 7 days and 14 days.

- Executive summary:
Two groups of rats (five males and five females/group) were dermally exposed toVinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate (16.0 and 8.0 ml/kg per group) under occlusion for 24 hr. The obsrvation period was 14 days. The application of vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate at doses of 16.0 and 8.0 ml/kg to skin of rat for 24 hr produced an LD50 of >16.0 ml/kg.
