Description of key information

Data from vinyl neodecanoate was read across to vinyl 2-ethylhexanoate due to structural similarity. A Bioconcentration Factor was determined for Vinyl Neodecanoate based on a modified O.E.C.D. guideline 305 study conducted in rainbow trout with exposure via dose-feed. The dose-feed exposure route was used to overcome the poor water solubility of Vinyl Neodecanoate. The study was conducted with all appropriate analytical support and GLP compliance.

Additional information

Data from vinyl neodecanoate was read across to vinyl 2-ethylhexanoate due to structural similarity. A Bioconcentration Factor (BCF) of 1245 (1100 -1390) was calculated for Vinyl Neodecanoate in rainbow trout based on O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 305 study with dose-feed modification. The dose-feed modification was necessary to overcome the poor water solubility of Vinyl Neodecanoate. Vinyl Neodecanoate was rapidly cleared from fish tissue achieving 95% clearance within 14 days. All criteria for a valid study were met. Due to Vinyl Neodecanoate's low water solubility the calculated BCF is a conservative estimation.
