Specific details on test material used for the study:
LCE11031, Batch 1106900005 (zinc gluconate)
Details on sampling:
At the beginning and the end ot test, aliquot (approximately 20 ml.) was taken in each group containing the test item and in the control.
These aliquots were frozen and transferred to ICP unit to be analyzed for Zinc contents determination.

Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
Stock solutions were kept at 4 ± 2°C until they were used for the study. Stock solutions were used because they were not cloudy (without any precipitation).
on March 29th , 2011, April 4th, 2011 and April 11th, 2011, 250 mL of stock solution 1, 2, 3, and 4 were mixed with 800 rnL demineralised water and completed to 10L.
Test medium was kept less than I week at 4 ± 2°C
Test medium was used on April 1st, 5th and 12th, 2011.
Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Details on test organisms:
TEST ORGANISM
- Common name: Daphnia
- Strain: Daphnia magna (prescribed by test guideline)
- Source: SGS breeding lab
- Age of parental stock: Daphnids between 6 and 24 hours old and produced from parthenogenesis reproducing brood female population.
Every day, daphnids were filtered on the following sieves (200 pm, 560pm and 800prn). We used for the test, Daphnids which pass through 800 µm sieve and remain on 560 µm sieve.

Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM
- Aeration: During the preparation, test medium was ventilated until a value close to saturation in air.

OTHER TEST CONDITIONS
- Light intensity: Test carried out in the dark

PARAMETERS MEASURED:
The pH was measured in the control and all test concentrations, in the fresh solutions and in the old solutions.
The dissolved oxygen concentration was measured in control and in the lowest concentration that produced the maximum effect.
