Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2011
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
LCE11031, Batch 1106900005 (Zinc Gluconate) as supplied by Givaudan Lavirotte
Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
At the beginning, before and after renewal and at the end of test, aliquot (approximately 20mL) was taken in each group containing the test item and in the control.
These aliquots were transferred to ICP unit to be analyzed for Zinc contents determination.
Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
Stock solutions were kept at 4±2°C until they were used for tha study. Stock solutions were used because they were not cloudy (without any precipitation).

On March 2011, 100 mL of stock solution 1, 2, 3, and 4 was mixed with 800 mL demineralised water and completed to 10L and 2L of stock solution 1, 2, 3, and 4 was mixed with 10L demineralised water and completed to 200L.
On April 29th, 2011, 1000mL of stock solution 1, 2, 3, and 4 was mixed with 8L demineralised water and completed to 100L. Test medium was ventilated until a value close to saturation in air and pH stabilization were obtained.

Validity criteria for test medium :
O2 dissolved > 7mg/L (90%).
pH= 7-8 ± 0.2
