Additional information

Hydrolysis is expected to contribute significantly to the overall degradation of [3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]urea (CAS 23843-64-3) in aquatic systems. The half-life at 20-25 °C and pH 7 is 2.8 h. Due to low volatility of [3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]urea and its silanol hydrolysis product (2.8E-02 Pa and 4.1E-07 Pa at 25°C, respectively), the substance does not tend to enter the atmospheric compartment. Therefore, indirect photodegradation is not an important degradation pathway.
