Conclusions:
Half life period of Amaranth in sediment is 13000 hrs (541.667 days) and as per BIOWIN model Amaranth is not readily biodegradable in water. So on the basis of these values it is concluded that Amaranth is not readily biodegradable in water as well as in sediment. Since the degradation half life of the compound exceeds the threshold of 120 days as per the Annex XIII of the REACH regulation. Hence it can be concluded that the test chemical is persistent in fresh water sediments.

Half life period of Amaranth in water is 1440 hours (60 days) and as per BIOWIN model Amaranth is not readily biodegradable in water. Since the degradation half life of the compound exceeds the threshold of 60 days as per the Annex XIII of the REACH regulation. Hence it can be concluded that the est chemical is persistent in fresh and marine water.
