Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
09Mar2021 - 11Mar2021
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= -26.2 - <= 20.5 °C
Conclusions:
Determination of the freezing/melting point of [Product Name] Di-octyldodecyl Dodecanedioate was determined via DSC (differential scanning calorimetry)
Three DSC measurements were performed.
In the cooling phase, a broad exothermic event was detected. According to the pre-test, this can be identified as the freezing point.
In the heating phase, a first event with an endothermic phase followed directly by an exo-thermic behavior can be interpret as a transition phase. The second event can be as-signed as the melting point.
Melting point and freezing point are indicated in a range.
Rate of temperature change was 10 K/min

Therefore, the results of this study under the test circumstances should be stated as fol-low:

The freezing range was determined as:
from -26.24 °C to -41.42 °C (246.91 K to 231.73 K)

The transition phase was determined as:
-22.63 °C to -2.26 °C (250.52 K to -2.26 K)

The melting range was determined as:
from -0.05 °C to 20.45 °C (273.10 K to 293.60 K)

These values represent from three independent determinations.
