Results of the sieving:

fraction < 100 µm: 45.9 %

fraction > 100 µm: 54.1 %

The PSD of the fraction < 100 μm is determined by laser light diffraction:

   d10 [µm]  d50 [µm]  d90 [µm]
 Average  19  54  161
 St. Dev.  0.1  0.4  4.8

From the underlying data it is calculated that from the fraction < 100 μm only 3.2% is < 10

μm and 1.3% is < 5 μm. For the whole product it means:

• < 10 μm: 1.5%

• < 5 μm: 0.6%

Conclusions:
Light microscopic examination revealed that the Bis(pentane-2,4-dionato-O,O’)zinc contains particles < 100 μm. The shape of the product is non-fibrous.
This observation is confirmed by sieving the sample over a 100 μm sieve. On average 45.9 %m/m is < 100 μm.
The characteristics of the particle size distribution of the fraction < 100 μm are: d10: 19 µm; d50: 54 µm, d90: 161 µm
From the whole product 1.5% is < 10 μm and 0.6% is < 5 μm.

Description of key information

Light microscopic examination revealed that the Bis(pentane-2,4-dionato-O,O’)zinc contains particles < 100 μm. The shape of the product is non-fibrous.

This observation is confirmed by sieving the sample over a 100 μm sieve. On average 45.9 % m/m is < 100 μm.

The characteristics of the particle size distribution of the fraction < 100 μm are: d10: 19 µm; d50: 54 µm, d90: 161 µm

From the whole product 1.5% is < 10 μm and 0.6% is < 5 μm.
