Description of key information

There is no information concerning short term toxicity to fish of n-Decyl methacrylate available.
The results of the aquatic short term toxicity to fish studies on the structurally closely related Isodecyl methacrylate (i-C10-Ester) are considered as representative for the aquatic toxicity of n-Decyl methacrylate (C10 -Ester).
In a study according to guideline DIN 38412 L 18, the 48 hr LC50 for Leuciscus idus is 470 mg/L. No mortalities are observed at 450 mg/l.

LC50 [48 h]: 470 mg / L This is supported by an LC0 of >10000 mg/L for Isotridecyl.

In a study according to guideline DIN 38412 L 18, the 48 hr LC50 for Leuciscus idus is 470 mg/L.

No mortalities are observed at 450 mg/l. The water solubility of Isodecyl methacrylate is in the range of 200 µg/L .Therefore, it appears that saturated solutions of the substance are non-toxic to fish. This is confirmed by the results of fish toxicity testing with the structural analogue isotridecyl methacrylate.
