Description of key information

Reactive Brown 49 can therefore be regarded as little mobile in all three soils.

Additional information

The screening test for adsorption / desorption revealed a moderate adsorption of the Reactive Brown 49 on soil. At a concentration of 4.806 mg/l and soil samples of 5 g, the amount of test substance adsorbed was 75.3% for soil Speyer, 58.0% for soil Sisseln and 76.2% for soil Les Barges. From the quantity adsorbed less than 22.5%, 31.6% and 16.8% could be respectively desorbed.

The adsorption coefficient was 15.24 ml/g, 6.81 ml/g and 15.97 ml/g calculated for soils Speyer, Sisseln and Les Barges, and the corresponding Koc values were 666 ml/g, 433 ml/g and 420 ml/g, respectively (506 ml/g on average).
