Description of key information

The flash point of the substance is 168°C (Pensky-Martens closed-cup: see endpoint 4.11)
Experience in handling showed that the substance does not react with water or ignite spontaneously when coming into contact with air at normal temperatures. The substance also lacks structural alerts for flammability. Testing does not appear scientifically necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point of 168°C classification as a flammable liquid according to the CLP Regulations (EC) No 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC is not necessary.

Based on the absence of structural alerts and based on experience in handling, the substance does not have to be classified as a pyrophoric liquid or as a substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases under the CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC.
