Data on the long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is available from the HBF4 chemical analogue NaBF4. The 21-d NOEC for NaBF4 in daphnids was determined at 188 mg/L. When corrected for molecular weight, the 21-d NOEC for HBF4 is 150 mg/L.
Data on the long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is available
from the HBF4 chemical analogue NaBF4. In this study, Daphnia magna were
exposed to NaBF4 concentrations of 0, 188, 375, 750, 1500 and 3000 mg/L
for 21 days. The chronic effects on number of first-brood neonates,
total number of neonates, and average brood size was examined. Each
experiment was terminated either when all control females completed
their third brood or at 21 d.
