Description of key information

The readily biodegradation of X-22-1622 under the conditions of the Modified MITI test (I) was investigated according to OECD guideline 301C and GLP principles. Based on the obtained results, X-22-1622 was not readily biodegradable. The study is considered to be reliable with restrictions as no toxicity control was used. The toxicity of the test substance to bacteria is considered to be essential for the correct interpretation of low biodegradation values.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The readily biodegradation of X-22-1622 under the conditions of the Modified MITI test (I) was investigated according to OECD guideline 301C and GLP principles. A single test concentration of 100 mg X-22-1622/L was tested during 28 days. Based on the obtained results, X-22-1622 was not readily biodegradable. The study is considered to be reliable with restrictions as no toxicity control was used. The toxicity of the test substance to bacteria is considered to be essential for the correct interpretation of low biodegradation values. Further information on the effects of the substance to micro-organisms might indicate the need for an adapted test set-up (e.g. lower test concentration if toxicity to microorganisms is observed).
