Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption/desorption of the test material could not be established by the OECD 121 guideline, due to the method being invalid for organic acids and cationic species. Therefore the Koc of the two constituent molecules (MEA and MEA carbamate) was estimated using KOCWIN which employs two different models: the Sabljic molecular connectivity method with improved correction factors; and the traditional method based on log KOW. The Koc (based on Kow) of the registered substance is estimated to be between 0.02547 and 0.2725, using MEA-c and MEA, respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
0.025

Additional information

A determination of the adsorption coefficient by the HPLC method detailed in OECD 121 was not possible. Therefore, an estimation was performed using the KOCWIN programme, from the US EPA, to assess the two constituents of the registered substance.
