The density of the test material has been addressed by providing data on a weight of evidence basis using two handbooks, a QSAR prediction, four company material safety data sheets and two internet sources.

Hawley (1977) and Lide (2009) provide peer reviewed physical data, quoted as found in the literature. SPARC has been used to generate a prediction, based on a validated model. The density is reported to be between 0.94-0.97 g/cm³. All three sources have been assigned a reliability score of 2 using the principles for assessing data quality as set out in Klimisch (1977).

Four safety data sheets [TCI Europe (2010), Alfa Aesar (2007), Chemical Book (2012), and Sigma Aldrich (2010)], two internet sources [Chemical book product property and chemical synthesis (accessed 2012)] and data taken from EPISuite have also been provided as a weight of evidence. All sources report the density to be 0.967 or 0.97 g/cm³. They have all been assigned a reliability score of 4 according to Klimisch (1977) as it is not possible to assess the accuracy of the data from the limited information they provide. However there is sufficient consistency between these sources to contribute to the weight of evidence and validate the conclusion.

Although there are slight negligible differences between values, based on the weight of evidence it is concluded that the relative density at ambient temperature is 0.94.
