No study was conducted on terrestrial organisms because, in accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, effects to terrestrial organisms does not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. For PCBTF, direct exposure of the terrestrial compartment can be excluded, while indirect exposure is possible. However, the substance has a low Koc (487.5) and is very volatile, therefore indirect exposure is expcted to be negligible. This conclusion is supported by the outcome of the CSR, where the risk to soil compartment was found to be acceptable even when the hazard to soil organisms was calculated calculated with the worst case equilibrium partitioning method.
