Additional information

Acute aquatic toxicity studies and the algal growth inhibition study are available and were used to calculate the freshwater and marinewater PNEC. As for algae it was not possible to calculate an EC50, the PNEC for water was calculated on the Daphnia EC50 which was slighlty lower than the fish endpoint.

For the PNEC STP the EC50 on microorganisms was used, while for the other compartment, the PNEC was calculated by applying the equilibrium partitioning method.

Conclusion on classification

PCBTF is classified as Aquatic Chronic 2, H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects due to the EC50 for Daphnia and fish which is comprised between 1 and 10 mg/L and due to its non ready biodegradable characteristic.
