Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Thermal sensitivity (effect of flame)

None of the six tests (three of them with theorifice plate and the remaining with theorifice plate) gave rise to explosion or breaking of any tube.

In the three tests with theorifice plate the following phenomena were observed:

a flame generation began in the test chamber after about 28 seconds with a formation of black dense smoke with unpleasant odour and enlargement of the flame; after about 94 seconds all phenomena ended.

In the three tests with theorifice plate similar phenomena toorifice plate were observed.

The test result is considered negative.

Mechanical sensitivity (effect of shock)

No explosion was obtained during the series of six tests at 40 J performed on the test item (bursting into flame and/or a report is equivalent to explosion).

The test result is considered negative.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance did not give rise to explosion in none of the tests carried out (effects to shock and flame). In addition, no groups associated to explosive properties are present in its chemical structure.

For all these reasons, it is not classified according to the CLP Regulation n.1272/2008
