OECD 109 (2012) - The relative density of Tetraesters of pentaerythritol with 2-methylpropanoic acid and 3,5,5-trimethyl-hexanoic acid was determined relative to purified water using a pycnometer at 20 °C. A clean, dry pycnometer was accurately weighed then filled to the limits of its capacity with pure water. It was then carefully stoppered without trapping air, dried and re-weighed. The procedure was repeated with the same pycnometer using test substance. Two tests were performed concurrently using separate pycnometers.
The relative density of Tetraesters of pentaerythritol with 2-methylpropanoic acid and 3,5,5-trimethyl-hexanoic acid was calculated to be 0.99 at 20 ºC.
