Description of key information

The product DABCO® NE 1080 (mixture of bis-N,N'-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) urea and 3-dimethylaminopropyl urea) boiling point was determined using OECD103 (Siwoloboff method). The heating range was run from 120°C – 250°C, at a ramp rate of 1.0°C/min. Ambient pressure at the time of testing was 991 mbar. The sample is a clear, colorless liquid in the boiling point tube at room temperature. During the course of heating, sample decomposition was observed. Decomposition was indicated by a change in the sample color from colorless to orange-brown. The onset of this slow, subtle color change was difficult to detect.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling point of the sample could not be determined due to sample decomposition.
