Description of key information
The EC50 on Daphnia magna after 48 h of exposure to the test item under static conditions is 3.0 mg a.i./L (95% confidence limit = 2.34 - 3.82 mg a.i./L) expressed as mean measured concentration. The 48h-NOEC is 1.63 mg a.i./L (mean measured concentration).

The acute toxicity of the test item to Daphnia magna was tested according to the OECD guideline 202 and GLP. The study was conducted under static conditions.
20 daphnies were exposed during the 48 -hour exposure to the following mean measured concentrations 0.715 , 1.63, 3.58, 8.13, 17.8 and 36.2 mg /L, determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV) system. These measured concentrations represent recoveries of 82 to 89% of the nominal concentrations.
The water quality parameter (pH, oxygen) measured at the start and at the end of exposure were within the acceptable limits. No immobilisation was observed in the controls. The validity criteria of the guideline were fulfilled.
