At least one study for any of the three acute trophic levels was reported with EC50 higher than 100 mg/l and showing general no toxicity at high doses.

 

Regarding long term studies, a Daphnia magna reproductive study is available on a similar substance, CAS 16470-24-9. The substance is part of the category, as described in the Category Justification Report attached to the section 13 of the dossier; it presents a very high similarity with the substance under registration (CAS 13863-31-5) according to Tanimoto distance (> 0.9). It is much more soluble than CAS 13863-31-9 (650 g/l respect to 0.77 g/l, respectively) and it is therefore more environmentally bioavailable. The organic functionality between the two substances is very similar.

The result of the chronic reproductive Daphnia study on the analogous substance CAS 16470-24-9 has been considered to establish the NOEC for the substance (NOEC = 6.59 mg/l).

No further long term studies are proposed, since direct and indirect exposure is unlikely due to the risk management measures that will be applied at industrial level and discussed in details within the exposure scenario to avoid any release of the substance directly in the municipal waste water treatment. The local RCR in surface water is calculated as 0.089 and 0.0052 based on estimated and monitored quantities.
