Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

2EHDPP is a “poorly soluble” substance with tendency to stay undissolved when its concentration exceed the water solubility value. Effects observed in the presence of undissolved test material are not indicative of true toxicity but rather indicates physical effects.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Water fleas (Daphnia magna) were continuously exposed to S-141 concentrations ranging from 6.0 to 75μg/l (mean measured concentrations) through one generation (21 days). Survival was measured weekly and the production of offspring measured on weekdays from days 7 through 21. Based on the results of the study, the NOECs for reproduction and mortality for S-141were found to be 18 and 43μg/l respectively.

The above results are also reported in a publication of this study.

The available studies on the Long -term toxicity to invertebrates of 2EHDPP are listed in the table below:

Daphnia magna

21-d NOEC (LOEC):

0.018 (0.043) mg/L

Entrapment of daphnids noted at 0.036 mg/L during the range-finding study. This indicates the presence of undissolved test material and suggests that the solubility in water may be even lower than the measured value of 0.0506 mg/L.
