Results: Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min up to about 400 °C, the test item Dicalcium pyrophosphate (CAS 7790-76-3, EC 232-221-5) showed no self-ignition reaction.

Conclusions:
In conclusion, the test item Dicalcium pyrophosphate (CAS 7790-76-3, EC 232-221-5) is considered to be not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.

Description of key information

Auto flammability: not auto-flammable (EU Method A.16, GLP)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The potential auto flammability of Dicalcium pyrophosphate (CAS 7790-76-3, EC 232-221-5) was evaluated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.16 and GLP (Wagner-Rivas, 2015). The test item Dicalcium pyrophosphate was used in its initial form. The test item showed no self-ignition reaction up to 400°C. Therefore, the test item is considered to be not auto-flammable.
