Hydrolysis

The hydrolysis rate was determined in a study according to guideline 40 CFR 158.130. There was no significant degradation of the test substance. The test substance is hydrolytically stable.

Biodegradation in water

The readily biodegradation of the test item was determined in a study according to the OECD guideline 301 D. The degradation was determined to be 75 % after 28 days. In a second supporting OECD guideline study the degradation was determined to be 97 % after 28 days. Both studies met the 10-d window criteria. According to this result the substance is readily biodegradable in water.

Transport and distribution

The performance of the adsorption/desorption screening test is scientifically unjustified. REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VIII Sect. 9.3.1., Col. 2, states as follows:

"9.3.1. The study does not need to be conducted if:

– based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient); or

– the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly."

Due to the low logKow value of the test substance estimated to be 1, measurement of the adsorption behaviour of the test substance is technically not feasible.
