Description of key information

It was found that after removal of the ignition source, the flame extinguished after 21, 8 and 10 seconds and no propagation of combustion was observed within 4 minutes for dilithium adipate, dilithium azelate and dilithium sebacate respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

All three studies are GLP compliant and follow EU method A10 and United Nations (UN), UN no. ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5: Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Part III: Classification Procedures, Test Methods and Criteria Relating to Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Division 5.1, Class 8 and Class 9, Test N.1: “Test Method for Readily Combustible Solids”, 2009. Therefore, they are given a reliability rating of 1 (reliable without restrictions). It was found that after removal of the ignition source, the flame extinguished after 21, 8 and 10 seconds and no propagation of combustion was observed within 4 minutes for dilithium adipate, dilithium azelate and dilithium sebacate respectively.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As it was found that after removal of the ignition source, the flame extinguished after in <21 seconds and no propagation of combustion was observed within 4 minutes for all three test items, all three test items are considered “not highly flammable”.
